Miriam Aaron Roland Volunteer Service Prize goes to Lars Osterberg

Lars Osterberg, M.D., clinical associate professor of medicine, is congratulated after winning the prestigious Miriam Aaron Roland Volunteer Service Prize May 7. Osterberg is chief of General Internal Medicine at VA Palo Alto Health Care and was responsible for establishing Cardinal Free Clinics. He told the Garden Court Hotel audience that the measure of a society is how it cares for the poor.
