Salman Rushdie, author of the The Satanic Verses told a packed house at Kresge Auditorium May 5 that culture, and writers, are being squeezed by a triangle of forces: the right, left and radical religious Islamic fundamentalism, and the pressure is increasing. His solution: push back.
