Senate set to meet Thursday
The Faculty Senate will convene Thursday for the second meeting of the winter quarter.
The senate is scheduled to hear reports from Bob Reidy, vice president for land, buildings and real estate, and Jan Thomson, manager of faculty and staff housing.
The senate also is scheduled to hear a resolution proposing that the Committee on the Professoriate examine the consistency in appointment processes at institutes affiliated with Stanford, such as the Hoover Institution and the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies, and report its findings to the senate.
In addition, David Spiegel, a professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences, is scheduled to announce that grants for interdisciplinary research are available from the Stanford Cancer Center. The one-year awards of as much as $50,000 will support the development of high-quality interdisciplinary research projects in cancer prevention and control, cancer epidemiology, and interdisciplinary clinical and translational cancer research projects.
The senate is scheduled to meet at 3:15 p.m. in Room 180 of the Law School.
