Business offices issue winter shutdown instructions

The Controller's Office, Office of Research Administration, Procurement and the support group for Administrative Systems and Financial Systems will be closed during the winter break. The campus-wide shutdown is scheduled from Monday, Dec. 22, through Friday, Jan. 2, 2009.

Payroll will be open through close of business at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19. For assistance with payroll issues before then, submit a HelpSU ticket, at http://helpsu.stanford.edu—;specify the request category as "Central Office Issues" and request type as "Payroll question." Payroll will reopen when the university resumes normal operations on Monday, Jan. 5.

All departmental deposits to be processed in calendar year 2008 must be brought to the Cashier's Office by noon Friday, Dec. 19.

Although Financial Systems Support—including the Help Desk—will be closed during the break, all production and infrastructure applications will continue to be available. Limited staff will be on hand to monitor systems and to ensure that critical applications and services remain running.

Any service outages or other emergencies can be reported by calling 725-HELP (5-4357) or by submitting a HelpSU ticket. Emergency messages will be responded to within 24 hours, except on weekends. Non-emergency messages will be addressed beginning Jan. 5.

During the winter closure, Student Services Center telephone representatives will be available to take calls at 723-7772 or (866) 993-7772 (toll free) from Dec. 22 until noon on Dec 24, and from Dec. 29 through Dec. 31 and on Jan. 2.
