Affair to remember
The Student Organizing Committee for the Arts puts on the annual festival, which showcases many forms of student, faculty and staff talent.
Paintings large and small covered the panels inside several exhibit tents near White Plaza that were open for viewing from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Performances kicked off at noon on the main stage. Students Cathy Sun and Aaron Zarraga, from the performance-based dance troupe Swingtime, stepped lively for festival-goers. Swingtime works with professional choreographers, dance historians, and dance legends to recreate swing-era dances and integrate current trends.
Austin Zumbro sang original songs and played guitar.
The ninth annual An Art Affair featured ballet, swing, modern and experimental dance, mariachi and rock music, improvisational theater, a CD release party, photography, films and more. The Student Organizing Committee for the Arts puts on the annual festival, which showcases many forms of student, faculty and staff talent. This year’s event, on April 11, ran from late morning to midnight and even included free Indian food with a Stanford ID.
