Stanford's Junior scores big in robot trials; nabs $1 million

Junior, Stanford's entry in a Defense Department competition, crosses the finish line in Victorville, Calif., on Saturday, Nov. 3. Junior placed second after getting snarled in traffic, coming in minutes behind Carnegie Mellon University. It was still big money for the Stanford Racing Team; $1 million for second place.
