Great Turtle Race of 2007

Stanford graduate student George Shillinger is co-founder and scientific adviser for the Great Turtle Race—a global event that allows anyone with a computer to track the 950-mile annual migration of 11 endangered leatherback turtles from their Costa Rican nesting beaches to feeding grounds near the Galapagos Islands. The race begins April 16 and ends April 29. The turtles can be followed by going to http://www.greatturtlerace.com.
