Stanford alumnus Scott McNealy, left, chairman of the board of directors of Sun Microsystems Inc., joined geophysics Professor Jerry Harris June 20 at Mitchell Earth Sciences Building for the formal launch of the Center for Computational Earth and Environmental Science (CEES). Sun has donated computer hardware that will give geoscientists a powerful tool for solving critical global challenges.
