Armin Rosencranz, a consulting professor in the Human Biology Program, has been named the 2005 ASSU Teacher of the Year. The award is presented annually by the Associated Students of Stanford University in recognition of outstanding contributions to students' academic development.

An authority on international environmental law and policy, Rosencranz has lectured at universities around the world, including India, Nepal, Thailand and Australia. "Each and every one of his students gets more than just facts, information or knowledge from Armin (though they get plenty of that, too!). He lends them his resources, ideas, time, friendship and experience," wrote one nominating student.

Rosencranz also received the Stanford Phi Beta Kappa Distinguished Teaching Award in 2003.
