Ways to conserve energy

  • Enable energy-saving features on your monitor and personal printer

  • Avoid using electric space heaters

  • When feasible, use stairs rather than the elevator

  • Purchase a “smart” power strip to automatically turn off equipment

  • Replace incandescent bulbs with compact fluorescent lights

  • Purchase Energy Star-labeled equipment and use power-saving features
