Campus crime statistics In 2002, Stanford police: Answered 12,176 calls Issued 2,044 citations (as of 8/1/02) Removed 1,500 abandoned bicycles Issued 42,000 parking citations Handled 209 special events Made 417 arrests, including 43 felonies, 312 misdemeanors and 62 infractions Each year the university is required to report the number of crimes in 10 categories to the Department of Education. For 2002, Stanford reported: 0 murders 1 robbery 2 aggravated assaults 2 hate crimes 3 arsons 7 sex offenses 49 arrests for minor in possession of alcohol, weapons or drugs 55 motor vehicle thefts 89 vehicle burglaries 154 burglaries in structures |
