Biomechanist explains 'Groucho running'

Postdoctoral research fellow John Hutchinson went to Thailand to study the biomechanics of fast-moving Asian elephants. One of the swiftest was "Big," who here demonstrates "Groucho running." Bent limbs help large animals overcome physical forces restricting their motion.
